John Ragno
LMHC, Founder.
I started Progress Forward Therapy to build something specific: a place where high-responsibility men can deal with pressure directly.
If you’re used to being the one who holds it together, this is a place where you don’t have to do that alone.
Progress Forward
Many of the men I work with are capable, driven, and relied upon by others. They handle stress at work. They show up for their families. They push through. But privately, anxiety builds, irritability increases, sleep suffers, and relationships feel the strain.
My role isn’t to “soften” you or turn you into someone you’re not. It’s to help you understand how pressure is affecting you, regain control where it’s slipping, and build a steadier, more intentional way forward.
Therapy here is structured, direct, and focused on measurable change.
Before becoming a therapist, I planned to become a police officer. I grew up around instability and understood early on how much leadership, integrity, and personal responsibility matter in shaping families and communities.
My approach is structured and collaborative.
We identify patterns quickly, separate thoughts from emotions, and build practical skills you can use immediately.
I draw primarily from CBT, along with elements of ACT and DBT, to create clear treatment plans and defined goals. Many clients appreciate that sessions feel focused and purposeful.
You can expect:
Direct, honest feedback
Clear expectations
Accountability
Measurable progress
The goal is simple: move from reacting under pressure to responding with control and intention.
